Valentines is just around the corner and we all love to look amazing for our special loved ones on that day. As a beauty expert, this is why I believe Valentine’s Day provides the perfect opportunity to try something different.

Here are some simple ways to dress up your virgin hair for the evening. If you typically wear your hair full or down, try straightening your hair and then slicking it back and put it into a high ponytail. This look is really pretty and we have seen it a lot on the runways and red carpets this year.

Once you have set your ponytail, take any kind of fabric and wrap it around your elastic band. This will be subtle, but different. You can also add a piece of fabric or a ribbon to a low lying ponytail or just wrap it with your own human hair as we are seeing on the runway models for Brandon Maxwell, Tibi and Nicholas K .

Another option is to part your hair down the middle making the hair very sleek, shiny and straight like we saw on Victoria Beckham’s model. This is a really sophisticated look that is trending right now.

You can even wear brazilian hair bundles by parting the hair with a deep side part and then, scrunching or diffusing the hair to add texture. This is fun way to create an 80’s look. It’s so cool, edgy and sexy.

How about creating a very soft wave effect like the model Christian Siriano wore. That’s pretty. Anna Sui model followed suit and wasn’t far off from the beautiful Bridgette Bardot. This body wave hair look is easy to achieve by blow drying the hair, then teasing the hair at the root, the sides and crown to add volume. Finish the look by taking your comb or a very soft brush and lightly smoothing the surface of hair while keeping the volume.

If you want to get a great look for second day of this style, it’s easy. Take a small section of hair on each side of the head, just in front of the ear, and pull the hair to the back of the head pinning it in the center back while leaving volume at the crown. Now, you have a great look for the entire Valentine’s Day weekend.

For those of you with very naturally curly hair, I always say embrace it! It’s not about taming it down anymore. It’s actually a very hot look that is trending hard. My guess is that it will be for a long time, too. It’s sexy, fun, beautiful and you can leave it be or you can pin up the sides leaving the back of the hair on top of the head hanging naturally. When it comes to the big natural curl, I say, the bigger the better!! I love the fact that what we saw on the runways are styles that can be easily created at home and used on special days, like Valentine’s Day.
